Wear the ʻāhinahina

The design

The back carries the ʻāhinahina in full color, silver rosette and tall flowering stalk, printed large enough to read across a job site. The front stays quiet: the Hawaii Mapping wordmark, small, left chest.

We did not choose the plant for looks. It is endemic to Hawaiʻi, it holds ground where almost nothing else will, and it came back from near total loss because people took care of it. That is why it is on our logo, and the story is worth more than a paragraph on a product page, so we tell it properly on our About page.

The shirt

Printed on a Comfort Colors 1717, the heavyweight garment dyed tee that gets better with age rather than thinner.

  • Heavyweight 6.1 oz ring spun cotton (206.8 g/m²), 100% cotton
  • Garment dyed, so the color softens rather than fades
  • Relaxed fit, with a 7/8″ collar stitched down by a double needle
  • Neck and shoulders reinforced with twill tape
  • Printed one at a time, only after you order

How this works

Printed when you order it

Nothing is stocked, boxed, or sitting in a garage. Each shirt is printed one at a time after the order comes in, then shipped straight to you, so there is no dead inventory and no leftover run of the wrong sizes.

The shirt carries no margin at all. Printful is the seller, and every size is listed at Printful's own cost to print and pack it, so a sale earns us nothing; that is why the numbers end in odd cents rather than a tidy 24 or 30. The shirt is not a product line; it is so the crews, agencies, and landowners behind our Hawaiʻi projects can wear the mark, and so the mark turns up somewhere other than a report cover.
