Privacy policy

This page names everything this website sends anywhere while you use it: what goes, who receives it and, where we know, how long they hold it. We checked it against the live site in a real browser, page by page, on September 18, 2026.

What a visit sends

• Cloudflare, our host. Cloudflare delivers every page, picture and font, so its servers see your IP address, your browser and each address you open, as any web host does. It handles that under its own privacy policy.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics, for visitor counts. A small Cloudflare script reports each page view: the page address and the site that sent you (each cut short before any question mark), your browser's name and version, and how quickly the page loaded. Cloudflare says it uses no cookies or local storage for this and does not fingerprint anyone. We see totals: views by page, by referring site and by country. This script runs for every visitor, whatever privacy signal a browser sends.
• ntfy.sh, a visit notice to Eli's phone. The first page you open in a browser tab asks our own server to push one short notification to Hawaii Mapping's founder, Eli Polsky, through ntfy.sh, a public notification service. It gives the page you opened (anything after a question mark included), the town, region and country Cloudflare estimates from your IP address, and the name of the site that sent you, such as google.com. Your IP address itself and your browser details are left out. ntfy.sh caches messages for a few hours so a phone can collect them (12 by default, its documentation says). If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, this notice is never sent.
• Nobody else. Every other file a page uses comes from this site itself. No page loads anything from Google, Facebook, an advertising network, a map service or a video host.

Cookies

The site sets none. All it leaves in your browser is one entry in the tab's session storage that stops the visit notice from repeating, and your browser drops it when the tab closes. Our cookie page gives the detail.

The contact form and email

Our contact form goes straight from your browser to Web3Forms, a form delivery service, which emails it to the Gmail inbox Eli reads. It carries your name and email, your phone if you add one, the island and service you pick and your message, plus hidden fields saying which site sent it. Mail to info@hawaiimapping.com lands in that same inbox, forwarded by Cloudflare's email routing.

Web3Forms' own privacy policy, as we read it in September 2026, says the service is run from India, stores submissions with Amazon Web Services for up to three years unless they are deleted sooner, and may hand a sender's IP address and email to its spam filters, CleanTalk and Akismet. Google holds the email in Gmail under its terms.

We use what you send to answer you and to plan the work you ask about. We do not sell it, rent it or give it to anyone for marketing, and we will not put you on a mailing list.

How long we keep it

There is no fixed schedule for deleting form emails yet: they stay in the inbox as the record of the conversation. Ask, and we will delete yours from our inbox and tell you once it is done. The copies Web3Forms and ntfy.sh keep fall under their own policies.

Our shirt store and other sites

The shirt link opens our store on Printful, a separate site where browsing, ordering and paying all run under Printful's privacy policy and terms, not this page. Sites we link to, such as LinkedIn, our sister company Rogue Reconnaissance and the UAS Wildland Fire Collaborative, follow their own policies once you are there.

Your choices

• To see, correct or delete anything you have sent us, write to info@hawaiimapping.com or call 808-298-6290.
• To stop the visit notice, turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser.
• To stop the visitor counts, block static.cloudflareinsights.com with a content blocker; every page works the same without it.

Children

The site is written for businesses, agencies and landowners, and we do not knowingly take in details about anyone under 13.

When this page changes

If the site starts or stops sending something, we rewrite this page and move the date at the top.
